Superwoman Incident
I was in primary school then, couldn't have been more than 9 years of age. My elder brother and I were happily playing at the playground beside my house. The see -saw, the slide, the rings - jumping about like monkeys, then the swing. The swing. After sitting on the swings for awhile, we decided that it was too boring for adventurous young souls like us. So we came up with what we thought was the most awesome idea at that point in time.
"Why not we both stand on both sides of the SAME swing? Like how we've seen those older kids do?"
"OK!" I think that was me agreeing.
Hence, we climbed up on the swing, swinging happily. Front to back, front to back, getting higher with each push from my brother's sturdy legs.
The swing was so high in the air. I was so excited! Then I did the stupidest thing ever. I think I tried to clap my hands. The moment I let go, I realised it was the worst mistake ever. So there I was, literally flying through the air, I remembered thinking "Wow, the sky is so blue!" before I hit the ground with a thud, flat on my back.
Too shocked and dazed to cry, I just lay still on the ground. (Haha... So funny) Thankfully, a neighbour saw my flying incident and quickly brought me back home. My brother was guilt ridden but I'm pretty sure he laughed at my stupidity; my dad was worried I'll suffer from brain damage but thankfully I didn't.
Moral of the story?
Don't try to clap your hands while standing on a swing that's high up in the air.

Up till today, this has been a favourite reunion story. I don't think my dad will ever let me forget this. Haha. Esther's stupidity 101.

Conincidence instead of Irony
I remember these two mugs being given to me on two separate occasions. Both long before I've had any interest in coffee (gosh... when was that?!) and those days where I just started going to the gym on irregular intervals.
Maybe these two mugs played a small role in making part of me today. All those days staring at them could have trigger me in my subconsciousness. Heh.
Who knows for sure?
+++++++++++
*Screams* I stress la.. Where else can all these nonsense come from?!?!

Top 5 Singapore moments
Before it gets buried deep into the recesses of my memory, replaced by some other more significant / eventful thoughts, I might as well write it down.
Number 5
Looking awestruck at the amount of Christmas decorations and lights displayed in the shopping centres and along Orchard Road. Every shopping centre had a different colour theme, different deco and it you know how many malls are along Orchard Road, you'll be awestruck too.
Number 4
Almost weeping out loud when I saw the price tags on books, clothes, groceries, electronic goods, etc... while thinking "If only I earn Singaporean Dollars, not lousy Malaysian Ringgit." I think I used that phrase like 1000000 x 1000000 times in Singapore. Solely because, goods are obscenely cheap on a dollar to dollar basis.
Number 3
Getting caught in a sea of people on new year's eve. Oh... trust me, it was stressful, not fun at all. Everybody squeezing to get from one place to another, sweaty people brushing against your skin, inconsiderate people shoving you around, listening the police over the loud speaker saying "Turn around! Turn around! THIS ROAD IS CLOSED!". But all was worth it in the end, because the fireworks display was the most magnificent I've ever seen.
Number 2
Having the best-est time ever with the cousin, the bff and the younger brother.
Number 1
Running after the MRT, managed to get on it in the nick of time together with Kim, heave a sigh of relief, only to turn around and look across to discover that at the other side of the glass door stood a very confused / pissed off brother!
It was a honest mistake, it wasn't my deliberate plan to throw him out alone and teach him how to survive on his own. However, he stayed pissed at me for half a day... I think.
That was simply hilarious.

British humour
" What do you fancy?"
" I don't know."
"It's got to be Adidas, I think."
"Why?"
"Because that's what everyone wears."
The shoes were displayed according to manufacturers, and the Adidas section of the shop was attracting more than its fair share of shoppers.
"Sheep," said Marcus as they were approaching. "Baaaa."
" Where did you get that from?"
"That's what my mum says when she thinks people haven't got a mind of their own."

I have read good books. But I don't think I've enjoyed any other book as much as like how I'm enjoying this book now. Every page seems to be filled with truth about society and human perceptions. Mr Nick Hornby writes it in such a way that it makes me smile and laugh.
British humour is good.

Bangkok
So, what did I do in Bangkok?
I visited the grand palace

The teak wood palace. Temporary residence of King Rama V while the main palace was under construction.

I speed shopped. 3 hours.

Visited China town. Typical huh?

Boarded the Chao Praya River Express.

Went to the floating market.

Ate mango sticky rice.

Had tom yum every night.

Tried this awesome pancake thing with coconut in it.

Had lots of family bonding time! <3

In less than 24 hours
In less than 24hours time, I'll be off! Across the border and into the city where the King is treated as a semi god.
Shopping shopping and more shopping! Though I won't keep my hopes high for there is a Chinese saying that goes "The higher your hopes, the more you're likely to be let down".
